Adaptive Reuse Architectural Planning: Conversion of Historic Belmont Park,
San Diego CA,
to Adaptive Aquatic Center for Wounded Warriors.

Interior Architect Kate Herron has operated professionally in the design world for twenty years. Her passion originates from a family history of drawing and engineering based amongst the National galleries in DC, a formal education in business and art, graduate research in international architecture, historical preservation, landscape architecture, industrial design and photography, and ultimately, a series of collaborations with architects, graphic designers, fabricators and publishers. Kate is an avid sailor with racing experience around the globe. This relationship with the sea serves as a guideline for creative development.

It takes a devoted designer to navigate the vicissitudes of the design and construction world, and Kate's ability to listen well and her intimate knowledge of not only design, but business management, is a true opportunity for clients to have a stress-free experience.

Master of Interior Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, with graduate coursework completed at the University of Pennsylvania and Brown University. Dual degrees with honors in BA Business Management and BA Graphic Design and Art History from Washington College, with coursework completed at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Kate is a recipient of RISD's distinguished GS Grant for her research into adaptive athletic environments for Wounded Warriors.
